Job Description:
1. Design and drafting, product design and
modification, layout, certified and detail drawings.
2. Create and implement ECO’s to products and families of products.
3. Create and maintain Bill of Materials, and work with Bill of Material
generator systems.
4. Provide design, drafting, and product change support to teams,
and other departments.
5. Provide support to resolve product, manufacturing, and assembly
issues.
6. Create and maintain design files and planning systems.
7. Use standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, etc).
8. Understand the basic procedures of departments that use BOM (Sales,
Production Planning, and Manufacturing).
9. Understand the basic functions of documentation control, document
preservation, cataloging, and computer filing
10. Receive training, assignments, and other directions from an Engineering
Group Leader or Manager.
Candidate Profile:
1. Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical
engineering from four-year college or university and 1-2 years related
experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
2. This position is responsible for product design drawings, including
layout, certified, and detail shop drawings.
3. The design drafter is proficient in creating and maintaining Bills
of Material (BOM) in the Materials Resource Planning system.
4. He/She performs routine design calculations from Engineering Standards
and Practices.
5. He/She assists other departments to resolve problems in manufacturing,
quality and assembly.
6. The Design Drafter will be proficient in CAD like AutoCAD, SolidWorks
and Inventor (Optional), office productivity software, and office
procedures.
