Job Description:
1. Big Data analysis and visualization based
on data from real life applications
2. Mobile and Pervasive Computing that implement real life solutions
with particular focus on developing innovative mobile tools and technologies
catering to the needs of emerging markets
3. Sophisticated Data analytics of social media text, video, speech
or images to gain business insights using techniques from machine
learning, graph analysis, statistical and stochastic modeling, natural
language processing and semantic web
4. Distributed Systems with particular emphasis on cloud computing,
web/business process optimization and large scale software systems
5. Human Computation with emphasis on optimization, crowd computation,
image processing, knowledge-based systems and user interfaces
6. Human Centred Design that interacts with computers to translate
ethnographic insights into information architectures, conceptual prototypes
and working solutions
Candidate Profile:
1. Be enrolled in a PhD (or Master''s with
thesis) program in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Electrical
Engineering or a related discipline.
2. Have excellent programming skills in Java, C, scripting languages
such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Scala, etc. and/or application development
platforms like Android
3. Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
