Job Description:
This position performs complex testing
tasks requiring planning, and manual testing to assure that
developed products meet requirements and design specifications
and are within total quality management limits and standards.
Working within a delivery team, the QA Engineer communicates
with product developers and technical support specialists
to identify software defects found in various products.
Responsibilities:
1. Defines test objectives, creates test plans and develops
manual and procedures.
Performs complex testing on complex projects including the
planning, scheduling and implementation of testing projects.
2. Executes software applications tests generating test data
and metrics, communicating test status and analyzing results.
3. Participates successfully and influences quality on assigned
teams.
4. Communicate issues with priorities and work with supervisor
to manage priorities when assigned to multiple teams.
5. Records defects (using bug tracking software), including
documenting information useful in the debugging process, evaluating
test data, problem discovery, tracking and resolution.
6. Provide test results to management that are clear and concise.
7. Acting as the “costumer advocate” on quality
issues, researches and develops an understanding of the marketing
and/or industry requirements for the product feature being
tested, including how the users use the feature and their
performance requirements for the features.
8. Responsible for recognizing and making management aware
of process problems and defects being overlooked that may
be critical to product’s usability.
9. Learn basics of underlying Meridium technology (databases,
windows, IIS, etc.)
